Gates to Guinness Brewery
Gates to Guinness Brewery
There are several gates to the Guinness Brewery (known as Guinness Storehouse) and this is just one of them. It is on Chapelizod Bypass, opposite Heuston station. Ever since 1760, Guinness has been brewed at the same brewery, St. James Gate in Dublin, to which the Guinness Company pays 45 pounds in rent each month. The price has been the same ever since the last day of December 1759 when Arthur Guinness, the founder of the Guinness brewery, signed a lease for 9,000 years - see LinkExternal link

The present Guinness Storehouse buildings date from 1902. The history of the Guinness Storehouse can be seen at LinkExternal link
