TQ1530 : Unusual Wall Feature

taken 17 years ago, near to Broadbridge Heath, West Sussex, England

Unusual Wall Feature
Unusual Wall Feature
At the entrance to Hills Cemetery on the A281 as you enter Horsham, from the west. In the wall there is a small roofed opening, about 2 foot square and 6 inches deep.
I have no idea what this is or why it was built and have not seen one of these before.
