Raw Head
View approximately west, showing the farmland of the western half of this square, seen from the top of the steep escarpment. The hill is only 227m/745ft above sea level, but because of the sudden loss of height and then a low plateau, the views from here extend to Mersey, Birkenhead and Liverpool, some 40km away, Chester and the prominent new bridge at Queensferry, 23km to the north-west, with the Clywydian Range declining to the sea at the Point of Ayr beyond the bridge, almost 50km away.
