Saxmundham Post Office building
Saxmundham Post Office building
In 1954 some old houses and a pub were demolished to create the site for Saxmundham's big new Post Office, sorting office and telephone exchange, at the northern end of the High Street. A classic piece of post-war architecture. The Post Office moved out years ago, and the exchange has shrunk, leaving much of the building let to a company called Christies Care.
