Caldon Tramway at Whiston
Caldon Tramway at Whiston
Jessop's 1804 Caldon Tramway rounds a hillside before recrossing the main road at Whiston. The trackbed shows many typical early railway construction features, notably the use of drystone embankments in places. The rather more modern Moneystone Quarry works are visible in the distance to the RHS.
