https://www.geograph.ie/photo/7620026
This track leads through the gateway, past the forestry, and (according to the 1:50000 OS map) reaches some buildings in the next square south. The mountain in the distance is Caberbarnagh.text/html2023-10-09T19:11:19+00:00https://www.geograph.ie/profile/14974Neville Goodman52.048543 -9.173966W1989 : A track towards Caherbarnagh
https://www.geograph.ie/photo/7619285
The top of Caherbarnagh (681m) never appeared as we drove around. The track is on the 1:50000 OS map but not on OpenStreetMap.text/html2023-10-09T19:06:35+00:00https://www.geograph.ie/profile/14974Neville Goodman52.049175 -9.191620W1889 : Cows by the track
https://www.geograph.ie/photo/7619275
On the 1:50000 OS map, there are three parallel tracks running north in the western half of this square, which are not on OpenStreetMap. Behind are the slopes of Caherbarnagh, but the land is gentle looking south.text/html2023-10-09T19:00:05+00:00https://www.geograph.ie/profile/14974Neville Goodman52.046002 -9.203197W1788 : Rathmore Community Alert Area

An isolated house 5km south of Rathmore, under the slopes of Caherbarnagh. The title of this image is the writing on the notice. Skitting around the rural grid squares of Ireland, we're aware that our activity may look somewhat suspicious, but only twice have we been questioned.text/html2023-10-09T18:53:53+00:00https://www.geograph.ie/profile/14974Neville Goodman52.053128 -9.200618W1789 : What's in the enclosure?
https://www.geograph.ie/photo/7619248
I wanted to take a photo that featured the enclosure as the primary subject, but I couldn't find any information about it other than the safety notice telling me to put on a hard hat, etc. So it's a road with a view to Caherbarnagh. The smart white VW is our hire car.text/html2023-10-09T18:45:48+00:00https://www.geograph.ie/profile/14974Neville Goodman52.060806 -9.205636W1790 : Isolated house south of Rathmore
https://www.geograph.ie/photo/7619236
This house looked derelict, though often such houses are still used, if not lived in.text/html2023-10-09T18:40:28+00:00https://www.geograph.ie/profile/14974Neville Goodman52.067330 -9.200416W1791 : Cottage by the road
https://www.geograph.ie/photo/7619229
This is the road from Hollymount Bridge [[7619205]]. This isolated cottage, on the south side of the road, is marked on the 1:50000 OS map.text/html2023-10-09T18:30:28+00:00https://www.geograph.ie/profile/14974Neville Goodman52.066512 -9.210164W1791 : Missed it by 2 metres
https://www.geograph.ie/photo/7619208
I am still [[7619205]] standing on Hollymount Bridge, but I've not been careful enough: I am still 2 metres inside W1691, and I intended to be just inside W1791. Nonetheless, it's a view of the bridge and the woodland alongside it.text/html2023-10-09T18:25:10+00:00https://www.geograph.ie/profile/14974Neville Goodman52.068380 -9.211964W1691 : From Hollymount Bridge
https://www.geograph.ie/photo/7619205
The camera position is in the middle of the Awnaskirtaun River, just 4 metres from the eastern edge of the square. The houses are on the minor road and the nearer ones are in the square.text/html2023-10-09T18:12:58+00:00https://www.geograph.ie/profile/14974Neville Goodman52.078652 -9.209471W1792 : Leaving Rathmore
https://www.geograph.ie/photo/7619197
The right-angle bend in the road can be seen in the photograph. The mountain beyond -- shrouded in cloud as the hills were for most of the day -- is Caherbarnagh, the main summit (681m) in [[W1987]].text/html2023-10-09T18:07:35+00:00https://www.geograph.ie/profile/14974Neville Goodman52.080802 -9.218865W1692 : A junction near Rathmore
https://www.geograph.ie/photo/7619189
The road running left (north) joins the N72 300m on in the village of Rathmore (An Ráth Mhór).text/html2023-10-09T18:03:33+00:00https://www.geograph.ie/profile/14974Neville Goodman52.067940 -9.228431W1591 : A ruin by the road
https://www.geograph.ie/photo/7619179
This ruin is on a minor road 2 km south of Rathmore (An Ráth Mhór).text/html2023-10-09T17:58:37+00:00https://www.geograph.ie/profile/14974Neville Goodman52.060676 -9.235523W1590 : Over the gates to fields and forestry

The road that runs straight through [[W1589]] carries on straight through this square too, turning west just as it reaches the northern edge. This view looks west from about the middle of the square. There's a watercourse leading east from here on the 1:50000 OS map, but it wasn't obvious from the road.text/html2023-10-09T17:47:31+00:00https://www.geograph.ie/profile/14974Neville Goodman52.055069 -9.230265W1589 : Straight to the rainbow
https://www.geograph.ie/photo/7619146
The minor road runs dead straight through brush and trees all the way through the square. The rainbows, as is often the way in Ireland, were coming and going.text/html2023-10-09T17:43:47+00:00https://www.geograph.ie/profile/14974Neville Goodman52.044482 -9.237117W1588 : Track off a minor road
https://www.geograph.ie/photo/7619138
Not shown on OpenStreetMap, but shown on the 1:50000 OS map, is a short track running west, in which I'm standing to take the photograph along the road.
