The seat is in a position which allows extensive views over Airedale and beyond towards Lancashire and Cowling Pinnacle. The plate on the seat reads "In loving memory of NORMAN IVES Take a pew and enjoy his favourite view". View looking towards Silsden. The canal was dredged on this stretch (Bingley 5 Rise locks to Kildwick) in 2011.
