This is the remains of a wooden boat (possibly a coal barge according to a local). There are some two parts some 2-3m apart which looks like part of a keel. There was also some talk about they tried to blow it up in the 1950s!
It sits some 250m off shore (from the stone beach) and is only visible at extreme load tides ie 0.1-0.3m at the equinoxes.
