Somewhat dilapidated and boarded up, this seems to be a dovecote in the garden of Purbeck House - now a hotel (the house, not the dovecote!)text/html2020-04-22T10:21:30+00:00https://www.geograph.ie/profile/18046John Lindsay50.616901 -2.065108SY9579 : Wild Garlic in Kingston

Installed in the 1800s, the water wheel used power from a local spring to drive farm machinerytext/html2020-04-18T14:09:53+00:00https://www.geograph.ie/profile/18046John Lindsay50.630382 -2.077569SY9481 : Bridge carrying a track over the Corfe River

A track from West Orchard Farm to West Bucknowle crosses the stream here. The stream runs in a fairly deep gully and there appears to be signs of some construction in the river bed.text/html2017-03-13T12:11:35+00:00https://www.geograph.ie/profile/18046John Lindsay50.908023 -0.737666SU8812 : Fox Hall - fireplace in the main room

The first floor of the hunting lodge formed the main room of the Duke of Richmond's accommodation. The room filled almost the entire floor with an alcove for the Duke's bed. This rather fine fireplace on the north wall (complete with working wind direction indicator) provided the heating.text/html2017-03-13T11:57:52+00:00https://www.geograph.ie/profile/18046John Lindsay50.908023 -0.737666SU8812 : Fox Hall

Built in the early 1700s for the Duke of Richmond. It was his hunting lodge, provided so he could attend the hunt first thing in the morning and presumably collapse after the evening events in the hunt dining room which was built across the lane. The hall is now holiday accommodation available through the Landmark Trust.text/html2013-09-15T13:20:40+00:00https://www.geograph.ie/profile/18046John Lindsay50.994092 -4.308410SS3824 : Castle Bungalow, Peppercombe

A wooden, prefabricated bungalow made by Boulton & Paul of Norwich in the early 1900s. Originally erected at Portledge, a little further east, but moved to the current spot in the 1920s after the preceding house, Peppercombe Castle, was demolished. It now makes a lovely Landmark Trust self-catering holiday location.text/html2013-09-15T13:10:58+00:00https://www.geograph.ie/profile/18046John Lindsay50.996519 -4.303970SS3824 : Cliffs at Peppercombe

This delightful and very old cottage was in a very poor condition before being rescued and beautifully restored in about 2000. The owner lived in it for about ten years before gifting it to the Landmark Trust from whom you can now rent it.text/html2012-07-19T19:35:59+00:00https://www.geograph.ie/profile/18046John Lindsay52.440279 -2.439959SO7082 : Bush Cottage

One of a series of buildings at Oxenford Grange designed by Augustus Pugin. The gatehouse, which is generally considered to be one of the best of his works, can be rented as holiday accommodation through the Landmark Trust.text/html2011-04-23T11:25:52+00:00https://www.geograph.ie/profile/18046John Lindsay51.180356 -0.668008SU9343 : Oxenford Grange
