Infrastructure construction for Heartlands housing, phase 1. Numerous differences can be seen from my April 2006 photo [[1156724]].
The farm buildings are now gone, many trees have been removed and the earthworks for new roads are now prominent.text/html2009-06-22T21:45:42+00:00https://www.geograph.ie/profile/33800Andrew MacKinnon55.862360 -3.694235NS9464 : Whitburn From Tippethill

View of Whitburn From Tippethill. The distant ridgeline, was previously broken by the leftover bings from the former Polkemmet Colliery, these have been removed and the Whitburn skyline is much more natural, although a small bing on the Harthill to Fauldhouse road can be seen at the extreme right centre of the picture.text/html2009-06-22T21:17:25+00:00https://www.geograph.ie/profile/33800Andrew MacKinnon55.868318 -3.679152NS9565 : View Of Whitburn Showing Whitburn Academy

Whitburn Academy used to be a dull grey block, now it has been recladded in cream and red and is a landmark from the Motorway. View taken about halfway up Tippethill Road.text/html2009-06-10T15:15:34+00:00https://www.geograph.ie/profile/33800Andrew MacKinnon55.867996 -3.689526NS9465 : King George V Playing Fields, Whitburn

The playing fields were opened in 1955 by Queen Elizabeth II, in a memorial to King George V. There are 471 other playing fields that are part of the memorial. There was a cinder running track on the lower level with a football pitch in the middle, but is now one large piece or grass. The cinder track was never properly maintained and due to the fact it was below the water table, was very muddy, and still is when the local youth football teams use the pitches. The upper level has two football pitches and is also used for the galaday sports and marching arena during the fourth Saturday of June. Looking over the Heartlands Business Park from the former Cowhill Farm. This picture shows the initial roads layout through the Business Park from the yet to be constructed Motorway junction. The main link through the business park in the centre of the picture, is of D2UAP or Dual 2 Lane Urban All Purpose, standard. Left centre of the picture is the D2UAP link which will be continued to the Motorway junction when constructed. The road at right bottom of picture is the temporary link to Balgornie Farm, which will be discontinued when a new link will be made from the new Motorway junction flyover.text/html2009-06-02T19:57:59+00:00https://www.geograph.ie/profile/33800Andrew MacKinnon55.867832 -3.688401NS9465 : Whitburn Town Centre
