The farmer at Broadmeadows has let out some of his land for sheep and cattle, while several hundred acres have just been planted to conifers and hardwoods (including the green field centre left), while some old stands of conifers are being felled. New hard access tracks have been built, (one can be seen in the photo) which are being used by local horse riders and mountain bikers.text/html2015-09-08T14:13:16+00:00https://www.geograph.ie/profile/54773Graham Hewitt55.577287 -2.921339NT4231 : Wall Near Broomy Law

The "Scottish" side of the Border Stane at Newcastleton. Some cutting back of growth is needed if it is not to become obscured. It is one of the 7 Stanes located at the 7 mountain biking centres in the south of Scotland. The Stane resembles the tail fin of an aircraft. More information on the 7 Stanes website.text/html2014-07-27T14:20:30+00:00https://www.geograph.ie/profile/54773Graham Hewitt55.177755 -2.781925NY5087 : Hills behind Newcastleton

This bridge takes the Cross Border Trail into England (or Scotland if coming the other way), a bike and walking route linking Newcastleton and Kielder and signed by the Forestry Commission. From here there is a short section of single-track before the route rejoins a forestry road for a nice downhill section before turning back and climbing to the Bloody Bush Toll Stone and the communication mast at Larriston Fells. Longer routes are available.text/html2014-07-12T20:36:58+00:00https://www.geograph.ie/profile/54773Graham Hewitt55.574629 -2.472276NT7031 : Eagle Owl near Roxburgh
