The main A896 winds out of Lochcarron and up over the watershed to Kishorn and the north. The dark imposing Applecross mountains create a breathtaking backdrop - to the extreme right the mast can just be made out - and to the left is the Coire na Ba with the precipitous 2002 foot high Bealach na Ba climbing all the way to the summit. "The Pass of the Cattle."
