Former H.Q., King's Liverpool Regiment :: Shared Description

At some time before 1891 (re: Old-maps) three double fronted Georgian houses, #57-61 Everton Road, were taken over by the army and were turned into the H.Q. of the 9th Battalion King’s Liverpool Regiment, A-E & G Companies. A carriage entrance was driven through the centre of the three providing access to open garden area behind, which became a drill yard with a drill hall. In 2014 the houses are painted blue and, in part, are home to the Liverpool Red Triangle Shotokan Karate Club: LinkExternal link The rear of the properties back on to Back Guildford Street from where the drill halls can be seen. There are also many photos of the buildings on the Liverpool Remembrance website: LinkExternal link
