The Metropole Hotel, King St., Leeds :: Shared Description

Completed in 1899 on the site of the 4th version of the White Cloth hall, from which the Cupola was retained. The Metropole is clad in Terracotta made by J Edwards at the Rhos Glazed Brick and Trefynant Fireclay Works, Pen-y-bont.

Currently run by PH hotels and branded "The Met" the name is due to change again in a few months, extinguishing all reference to the Metropole. But the name on the frontage cannot be removed, as this is a grade II listed building (LinkExternal link )
