50 Windows of Creativity :: Shared Description
50 Windows of Creativity is an art trail showcasing the work of artists and makers displayed in a series of windows, venues, businesses and spaces across Manchester city centre. The displays feature multiple art forms from fine art and photography to ceramics, crafts, mosaics and murals and are curated by well-known and emerging artists and collectives; all with a connection to Greater Manchester.
The project culminates in an auction which will see a selection of pieces auctioned with proceeds going to their artists and makers, and to The Lord Mayor of Manchester Charity Appeal Trust – We Love MCR Charity (registered charity number 1066972) which aims to help improve the lives and life chances of Manchester people.
The event was originally planned to run between 26th October and 5th December 2020 but, because public access to the trail was limited by the Government-imposed Covid restrictions (“lockdown”) in November, it was extended until December 13th. 50 Windows of Creativity was managed, in partnership with Manchester City Council, by “Wild in Art” Link
; the same group that organised the highly successful “Bee in the City” trail during summer 2018.
