Norland Moor :: Shared Description

Norland Moor is an area of about 113ha of public access land on high ground to the south of Calderdale, and above Sowerby Bridge. It has long been popular with local ramblers for its many miles of easy footpaths, and in recent years it has been declared a Nature Reserve. Much of it is open heather moorland, with a number of disused quarries around the northern and western extremities. From a high point of 284m near its western end, it slopes gently eastwards and steeply westwards towards the roads around the perimeter.
