Cirencester Mop Fair :: Shared Description

Mop Fairs date back to the 12th century; they are called a Mop Fair from their original purpose, they were hiring fairs. Servants would carry the tools of their trade to show they were available to work. In more recent times Mop Fairs have become modern funfairs.
