The Sheffield Tap :: Shared Description

The Midland Railway reached Sheffield relatively late in 1870, when the station was first built. It was remodelled and extended in 1905 by Charles Trubshaw, and the First Class Refreshment Room was part of that. After falling into decline since the 1970s, it was restored and reopened in 2009-2013 as an independently run real ale pub, now claiming to have the widest selection of beers in the city. It forms part of the Grade II listed station buildings (list entry 1270904) and is on CAMRA's Heritage Pubs list for its sensitively restored histoirc interior.
