The Three Horse Shoes, Boroughbridge :: Shared Description

Formerly the Three Horse Shoes, this ancient inn was renovated by Hepworth & Co. Ltd, brewers of Ripon, in the 1930s when the Great North Road brought motorists past the door. It remained untouched until a further refurbishment in 2007. This results in it being *** listed (the highest grade) in CAMRA's national inventory of historic pub interiors, as the wood and stained glass remains largely untouched. Also listed grade II (entry 1245941) by Historic England as 'an example of an increasingly rare inter-War public house interior, in which the plan form and fittings of c.1930 survive with very little alteration.'
