Holyhead Market Hall :: Shared Description
Holyhead market hall is dated 1855 and was designed by J Edwards and built by (John?) Thomas, and the iron gates were made by Ellis Williams at the Black Bridge Foundry, Holyhead. The names of the designer and builder are carved into the stone surround for the clock on the east end of the building, and the founder's name is cast into the lock plates on the iron gates. The Black Bridge Iron and Brass Foundry was on what is now the Lidl supermarket site and car park. The market building has been disused for some time and despite being listed Grade II Link
