Conquest Hospital :: Shared Description

Planning started in 1978 and the preliminary building started in 1986. Opened in June 1992,the site covers 40 acres and mainly consolidated the old Royal East Sussex, St Helen's and Buchanan Hospitals, all of which are now gone. Originally there were 368 beds plus 10 in ITU/CCU.
Phase II was opened in July 1998 by HRH The Princess Royal.
