Two Temple Place :: Shared Description
Two Temple Place is a remarkable building designed by J.L.Pearson in 1892-3 and completed in 1895 two years before the architect's death. It was built for William Waldorf Astor and was intended to resemble the mansion of a great Tudor nobleman. It succeeds in doing so, both externally and in its interior which is full of very high quality woodwork - unfortunately interior photography was not allowed when I visited.
The house was bought in 1999 by the Bulldog Trust Link
and has recently been opened as a fine exhibition space.
On large scale OS maps this building is titled "Incorporated Accountants' Hall" which was presumably its previous usage.
The building has its own website here Link
It is EH Grade II* listed Link
