The Rolls-Royce site, Dundonald :: Shared Description
Rolls Royce opened its factory, making parts for aircraft engines, at the corner of the Upper Newtownards Road and the Carrowreagh Road, Dundonald in 1966. It closed in 1977 as part of the corporate restructuring following the company’s financial problems in 1971. The factory later re-opened as Fisher Body, making seat belts, in 1979. The business then passed to European Components (TK-ECC) which closed in 2004. Now demolished the vacant site awaits redevelopment (recession permitting).
